Legal notice
Publisher identification, hosting information, the nature of the activities presented, and the rules governing the website’s content and digital services.
Technology services distinct from private investigation assignments.
Websites published by Alain Stevens may feature cybersecurity tools, OSINT solutions, software, AI functionality and training services. These resources fall within a framework of consulting, development and the transfer of technical methods.
Alain STEVENS is no longer a private investigator and does not conduct investigations, surveillance or the physical following of individuals. He does not accept such assignments, including as a subcontractor. Investigations conducted on behalf of third parties, where they constitute regulated private-investigation activities, must be carried out by independent third parties under their own responsibility and in accordance with the legislation applicable to them in their respective countries. Merely using a technical designation does not exempt a service from the regulations that actually govern it.
Publisher identification
This page identifies the publisher responsible for the website on which it appears. The information below is common to websites operated as part of Alain Stevens’ IT activities, subject to the specific arrangements of each domain and its hosting.
The Paris address is reserved for communications with public authorities. Please use the Reims address for ordinary correspondence.
Editorial responsibility
Alain Stevens acts as publication director. He determines the general editorial direction of content that he authors or publishes.
Where contributions, resources or materials provided by third parties appear on the website, their publication may be subject to review, adaptation or removal in accordance with the applicable rules. Mentioning an individual, organisation or company does not imply endorsement of all its activities.
Purpose of the website and services presented
Depending on the domain concerned, websites published by Alain Stevens cover IT consulting, website and blog creation, programming, software, content optimisation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital risk prevention and training.
Some websites also present open-source intelligence (OSINT) methods, assistance interfaces, tools for capturing, classifying or comparing data, and automation systems. These materials describe IT resources, possible uses or technical expertise.
A general description of a solution does not constitute a binding offer, a guarantee of permanent availability, a commitment to achieve a particular result or an assurance that it is suitable for an individual situation. Services actually offered are specified, where applicable, at the time of ordering or entering into an agreement.
Private investigations and CNAPS regulation
Distinguishing IT services from investigative activities
Alain Stevens, a former professional in digital investigations, now focuses on designing IT solutions, technical assistance, documentation and the transfer of methods. Within this framework, he does not personally offer assignments involving investigations into named individuals or the gathering of intelligence to defend a client’s interests.
In France, professional private-investigation activities fall in particular within Article L.621-1 of the French Internal Security Code (Code de la sécurité intérieure) when information or intelligence is gathered for third parties to defend their interests. The use of publicly accessible sources does not, by itself, place such work outside this regulatory framework.
Scope of OSINT tools
Providing software, a template, infrastructure or a workflow does not, in itself, mean that its publisher is conducting an investigation on the user’s behalf. Users remain responsible for determining whether their actions are legitimate and for complying with the rules applicable to them.
However, this distinction does not relieve the publisher of any obligations arising from what the publisher actually does. A service involving targeted searches for information about individuals, the selection of investigation targets or the provision of information to another party must be assessed according to its actual nature, regardless of its commercial description.
Independent professionals and service providers
Some content may refer to duly authorised private investigators, specialist consultants or providers operating in other countries. Their activities are governed by the legal and professional rules applicable to them.
The appearance of a reference or profile on the website does not mean that these professionals are employed by the publisher, that the publisher performs their services on their behalf, or that the publisher can guarantee their results. Any actual business relationship or referral must be assessed in light of each party’s contractual role and the applicable rules.
Digital tools, AI and automation
The services presented may use Windows software, web applications, content-generation systems, scripts, artificial-intelligence services, APIs or automation chains. Their availability and capabilities may change depending on software versions, providers and technical conditions.
An automated response, algorithmic correlation or AI-generated content may contain omissions, errors or outdated information. Users must verify the results, the underlying sources, the context and the use they intend to make of them.
A screenshot, report or computer-generated export does not automatically have the evidential weight of a formal record established under legally regulated procedures. Anyone producing or using such documents remains responsible for assessing their reliability and relevance.
Intellectual property and distinctive signs
Unless a specific attribution or licence is expressly stated, the website’s original elements — texts, presentations, illustrations, interfaces, graphic design, files and software developments — are protected under applicable intellectual-property law.
Browsing the website does not transfer any rights. Reproducing, displaying or redistributing content beyond statutory exceptions requires permission from the relevant rights holder. Free software, open-source components and third-party content remain subject to their respective licences.
The names Pacta, Pacta Cyber Lab, Cyberdétective and other names mentioned may designate trademarks, trade names or projects depending on their status. Any protection claimed for a distinctive sign depends on the rights actually in force; third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Personal data and privacy
Websites published by Alain Stevens do not deliberately use audience-analytics tools to track visits. This absence of statistical measurement does not mean that no technical data is processed: hosting, security, correspondence and invoicing may require certain information.
Rights relating to personal data may be exercised under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by contacting the relevant data controller, in particular by email at contact@pacta.com. Data subjects may also contact the French data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
A privacy policy sets out the purposes and arrangements of the processing undertaken. When a specific service uses accounts, uploaded data, an artificial-intelligence API or other specialised functions, additional information may be required.
External resources and third-party content
The website may refer to software publishers, information sources, platforms or independent service providers. Such references are intended to provide context for a technology or subject and do not necessarily constitute a recommendation, an affiliation or a guarantee.
Resources accessed outside this website are subject to their own access terms, licences, data-processing arrangements and liability rules. Their availability and accuracy are beyond the website publisher’s control.
Website availability and liability
The publisher endeavours to provide consistent information and keep the website accessible and functional. However, corrections, changes, technical interruptions or maintenance operations may occur.
General information is provided for presentation and documentation purposes. It does not, in itself, constitute legal advice, a comprehensive security assessment, an investigative service or a promise of results.
Any liability of the publisher is assessed under the applicable legal and contractual provisions. No general clause can exclude liability where the law prohibits such an exclusion.
Governing law and updates
The publication and services described operate within the framework of French law, without prejudice to mandatory rules that may apply depending on the status of the parties, where the services are provided and the nature of the operations.
This legal notice may be amended to reflect a change of operator, address, hosting provider, services or legislation. Visitors should consult the version published on the website concerned.
